Are We Having Fun Yet? A Woman's View of Life in Canada's Far North: A woman's view of survival in the wilderness of the Yukon Territory, Are We Having Fun Yet? Is the story of two greenhorns with a dream. Their story spans building a first log cabin, living off the land and a winter spent on a trap line in a century-old cabin. It's the story of guiding big game hunters in remote wilderness camps where pack horse strings were the only transportation. It recounts learning to survive the challenges of everyday-living in the North and growing to appreciate simple things and of developing a special bond of closeness growing from a total reliance on each other for day-to-day survival. Encounters with grizzlies and other wild animals, grueling treks across frozen rivers, breathtaking beauty, solitude and tragedy are all here. In the tradition of Onions In The Stew and Happy The Land, Bonnie Traplin invites the reader on a humorous, at times tragic trip to the far North.

After the untimely death of her husband in a helicopter crash, Bonnie spent 3 years alone in a remote cabin in the mountains of the Yukon Territory absorbing the healing silence around her. Wanting to share the unsurpassed beauty of her surroundings, she picked up a paintbrush for the first time, and spent the long hours of winter darkness paining by coal oil lamp, the dim yellow light giving her paintings their depth of color. Though Bonnie now lives in the Florida Keys, the mountains in their many moods will always hold a special place in her heart.
