Shipyards Lament (VHS Video): Canada's Lost Frontier: The Shipyards is a riverside squatter community in Downtown Whitehorse that symbolizes the Old Yukon lifestyle. It's a place where people can be themselves, where they live in dwellings that suit their simple needs, where they haul water and wood and where they look out for each other.

Shipyards Lament follows the forced eviction of the residents of this neighbourhood, the last of its kind in urban Canada. John Hatch, photographer and free spirit, is a resident of the Shipyards. He is being forced to give up his home to make way for southern style development-condos, strip malls and fast food joints. Through John, director Andrew Connors takes us into the homes and the hearts of this vanishing community. A powerful lament that illuminates the changing characters of Canada's last frontier.
